Physical Theatre – Introduction

A basic introduction to physical theatre will be given through exercises to introduce and enhance understanding and use of Viewpoints.  (Viewpoints is a technique of composition that provides a vocabulary for thinking about and acting upon movement and gesture originally developed by Mary Overlie a method of movement improvisation in the 70’s, The Viewpoints theory was adapted for stage acting by directors Anne Bogart and Tina Landau).

Each exploration will commence in a short performance to peers to culminate in the creation of a piece that incorporates 4 or more of the viewpoints.
