The magic of the art of oral storytelling lies in its long history as a tool and means to pass on cultural wisdom in cultures from around the world. Activation of the imagination, connection local land, animals, plants and trees, the sharing of local history and knowledge are all a part of this ancient art form.
This full day workshop will support participants in learning the art and craft of telling a tale to an audience. Exploration of the power and magic of oral storytelling will be shared in addition to techniques such as use of props, music and song.
As a means for teachers to enhance their teaching and learning process as well as develop the culture of the school or classroom, or for parents who would like to create their own storytelling ability and reportoire or for people who would simply like to develop the skill to tell a good story, this workshop is open to diverse interests and needs.
